History - Cooperation Networks

PRAXI / HELP-FORWARD Network (HΕLlenic Project FOR Wider Application of R&D, "ΠΡΑΞΗ" in Greek) is the strategic alliance of the Research and the Industrial world in Greece. It was established in 1991 by the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH) and the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), with the support of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT). PRAXI / HELP-FORWARD Network's primary aim was to promote the participation of Greek enterprises and research institutions into the EU Research and Technologyl Development (RTD) programs. In December 1995, enforced with the cooperation of the Federation of Industries for Northern Greece (FING), PRAXI / HELP-FORWARD Network became a member of the Innovation Relay Centre (IRC) Network with the mandate to promote the exploitation of RTD results as well as European co-operation in research and technology. PRAXI / HELP-FORWARD Network successfully renewed its four-year membership in the IRC Network in 2000 and 2004.

Since 2008, PRAXI / HELP-FORWARD Network has been carrying on its activities within the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) as a member of the Greek consortium of the Enterprise Europe Network which provides international business cooperation services, information on European policies, innovation and technology transfer services as well as services for encouraging SME participation to the European RTD programs. Furthermore, since 1999, PRAXI / HELP-FORWARD Network has been the National Contact Point (NCP) in Greece for EU RTD Framework Programmes (FP5, FP6 and FP7), acting as the official authority for information and advisory support for European research programs.

Since 2003, PRAXI / HELP-FORWARD Network has been offering specialised services to the researchers of FORTH for the commercial exploitation of their research results in light of its operation as FORTH's Industry Liaison Office.
